As a co-op preschool, Sand Tots does require more time of its members than do other preschools. As parent assistants, you will actively participate in our program, and there are five major areas where your participation is required: classroom participation, meeting attendance, maintenance, fundraising, and serving on a Standing Committee or as a Board Assistant or Board Member.
The benefits of participation are far-reaching for you and your child. A low teacher-child ratio affords you an opportunity to closely observe and guide your child under the direction of an experienced teacher. You will be offered opportunities to discuss experiences with peers and our experienced staff. You will also attend a variety of parent education programs that offer guest speakers with expertise in child development. You will find that this unique dynamic will enhance your skills and confidence in parenting your own children. As a cooperative nursery school, Sand Tots is responsible for strengthening the bonds of friendships and families. Watching your child blossom and the friendships that you both will form are perhaps the most rewarding of all.
